Basement Lowering for In-Law Suite in Bramalea

About this project

With aging parents needing to move closer, this Bramalea family chose to create an in-law suite rather than add on or move to a larger home. The existing basement had 6'8" ceilings—technically livable but cramped. We lowered the floor to achieve 8'6" finished ceilings, creating a bright, comfortable space that feels like a proper apartment rather than a basement.
