Full Exterior Renovation in Oakville

About this project

The property came to us with a weathered pressure-treated deck and second-storey balcony, an aging timber sleeper wall along the side of the house, tired wood railings, overgrown shrubs, and grading that pushed water toward the house front and back. We stripped out the old fence, decking and plantings, then rebuilt from the structure up. The second-storey deck received structural repairs, a 2-ply modified waterproofing layer and new pressure-treated planks, carried on a new beam and 8x8 posts set in concrete footings. The front balcony was repaired with a TPO membrane draining directly to the gutter, adjustments to existing flashing, new pressure-treated boards and soffit repair. At grade, we installed a 425 sq ft Techo-Bloc Blu 60 Grande patio in Shale Grey running bond, a new elevated pressure-treated deck patio with steps, and a front porch and flared steps in Onyx Black and Shale Grey pavers merged into the existing interlock. Along the side of the house, the timber sleeper wall was removed and replaced with a three-course Allan Block AB Classic retaining wall in Grey Mix with cap. New pressure-treated board fencing went in on the back and side runs with posts set in concrete, and black aluminum railings were installed throughout. Front and rear lots were regraded to improve drainage and soften slopes, with new soil and sod where needed. The finished yard drains away from the house and gives the family flat, usable space on both levels.
