Standing Seam Metal Roof on North York Bungalow

About this project

This North York homeowner had replaced their asphalt shingles twice in 25 years and was tired of the cycle. After ice dam damage in the winter of 2023, they decided to invest in a permanent solution. We removed two layers of old shingles, repaired damaged decking, installed ice and water shield across the entire roof, and finished with charcoal standing seam metal panels. The homeowner chose hidden fastener panels for a clean, modern look that complements the mid-century architecture.

Scope of work

• Removed two layers of existing asphalt shingles
• Repaired water-damaged roof decking (approx. 80 sq ft)
• Installed full ice and water shield underlayment
• Installed 26-gauge standing seam metal panels with hidden fasteners
• Custom-fabricated metal flashing for all penetrations
• New aluminum soffit and fascia to match
