From powder room refreshes to luxury master bath transformations.
Bathroom renovations are the second-highest ROI renovation in the GTA market, and they address one of the most-used spaces in your home. Whether it's a dated 1990s ensuite in Mississauga that needs a modern refresh, a tiny main bathroom in a Toronto Victorian that needs creative space planning, or a full master bathroom transformation in a Vaughan executive home, the scope of bathroom renovations requires careful planning and skilled execution. Bathrooms concentrate plumbing, electrical, ventilation, and waterproofing into a small space — mistakes in any of these systems lead to costly water damage that may not be visible for months. GTA-specific considerations include cast iron drain replacement in pre-1970s homes, galvanized water supply upgrading, and the increasingly popular curbless shower designs that require precise waterproofing and floor drainage engineering. Buildoreno handles bathroom renovations of all sizes across the Greater Toronto Area, from quick cosmetic updates to complete gut-and-rebuild projects, with licensed plumbers, electricians, and tile installers on our team.

We measure the space, discuss your vision and budget, and develop a design. Material selections (tile, fixtures, vanity, shower system) are finalized before work begins to prevent delays during construction.
Existing bathroom is carefully demolished. This is when we discover the true condition of plumbing, subfloor, and framing. In older GTA homes, we often find galvanized pipes, inadequate subfloor support, or previous water damage that needs addressing.
Plumbing rough-in for new fixture locations, water supply upgrades if needed, proper venting, and electrical circuits for lighting, exhaust fan, heated floors, and outlets. All work is inspected before closing walls.
Shower and wet areas receive liquid-applied or sheet membrane waterproofing. This is the most critical step — proper waterproofing prevents the structural damage that ruins bathrooms. Tile installation follows with appropriate substrate preparation.
Vanity, toilet, shower glass, mirrors, accessories, and final plumbing connections. Everything is tested, grouted, caulked, and cleaned. We walk through every detail and address any items.
Every Buildoreno estimate is a free, itemized written quote — no hidden line items. Your exact price depends on site conditions, materials, and scope.

A standard bathroom renovation takes 3–5 weeks. Powder rooms can be done in 2 weeks. Luxury master bathrooms with custom features take 5–8 weeks. The biggest variable is tile lead time and custom glass fabrication — we order these early to minimize schedule impact.
Yes — we recommend having at least one functional bathroom during the project. If you're renovating your only bathroom, we can expedite the schedule and prioritize having the toilet and shower functional as quickly as possible, then finish remaining details around partial use.
If your home has galvanized steel water supply pipes (common in pre-1970s GTA homes), we strongly recommend replacing them while walls are open — this is your one chance to do it affordably. Copper supply and ABS drains in good condition can be kept. We'll assess and advise honestly.
We use liquid-applied membrane (Laticrete Hydro Ban or equivalent) on all shower walls and floors, with sheet membrane at all joints and transitions. This exceeds code requirements and provides the waterproofing redundancy that prevents the slow leaks responsible for most bathroom water damage.
